Somewhere before it began
A spark flared to life out of nothing
Each event the result of the last
Each event was the cause of what followed
And a trial was put into place
Without any purpose per say
God was laughing so hard, she completely forgot
What she'd started
Ha, ha, ha.
And here I stand today
Homosapien 101
After years of construction
I'm refined and adapted
I'm still making mistakes
Like I'm a broken equation
And after the procedure evolves
We'll have more and more problems to solve
'Cause a world without fault
Leads us nowhere at all
When perfection is what we're all after
We don't know what we are
We're so desperate to know
That we're making up rules as go
We haven't been that far
As for the "human race"
We're all standing in place
And we're speaking tongues
And developed some ticks
And I'm starting to glitch
Yes, I'm starting to glitch
So I open my eyes and I pick up my feet
And each motion, like dance, will define who I'll be
As I move to the beat
And the natural rhythm of laughter
I measure success by the dreams that I have
And the wilder they are the better I get
At being my piece of this great instrument
Around us
I'll start it off, but you know the tune I sing
With a one, and a two, and three
We measure our lives
By the changes we've made
Even when they are pointless or stupid
'Cause we're grasping at straws
We're a system of manics
And we're filling out books
Defining creatures of habit
Sometime before all of this ends
And the sun swallows us up again
We might finally define
What is real in our lives
It's the heartbeat we finally inherit
We don't know what we are
If we just take a step
We'll react with one more after that
We haven't been that far
'Cause the answer is there
But we're so unaware
Let's open our eyes
And be blind in the light
'Cause not knowing is simply the proof
That we're alive
So I open my eyes and I pick up my feet
And each motion, like dance, will define who I'll be
As I move to the beat
And the natural rhythm of laughter
I measure success by the dreams that I have
And the wilder they are the better I get
At being my piece of this great instrument
Around us
I'll start it off, but you know the tune I sing
With a one, and a two, and three
