I'm sick of being pretentious
I'm sick of seeming childish
Just because I play with forces
So much greater than the basics
And I'm tired of being discounted
As a dreamer without purpose
And I know the only reason
Is not everyone everyone can see it
I don't live inside my fiction
I do my best to make it happen
Between my hope and hopelessness
I'd pick fiction any day
And every actor comes and goes
And every time it's more dramatic
Because I demand perfection
But that's not the human way
And I'm somewhere escape to
I drip with optimism
I live my life so cinematic
I live it like I'm always dying
And the real world, this dull parade
This stage where we're all made and placed
Stick to the part you're going to play
It's not worth it
And I can be forgotten
Bookmarked and laid to rest
Put under endless piles of papers
Endless deadlines, endless questions
A world once read now fades
My character fades with it
Until I am just a vapor
And the circle starts again
So consider yourself golden
And you'll shine brighter than the rest
But I hope you like seclusion
And its share of loneliness
But one day they might notice
Take your hand, and finally say,
'I always knew you'd make a difference,
With this gift you always gave'.
